Signet Rings, Wax Seals

I have a diamond paved signet ring that I made for myself a few years ago, and I still wear it every day. I simply love the sparkle of diamonds and how it gleams on my little finger.

And until one of my customers ordered a signet ring and told me that he’d actually use it for wax seals, What a classic idea, I thought. I am personally a fan of calligraphy style letters so I pretty much enjoy designing the patterns for customers. Every time I feel it’s so like a magic. The laser beam quickly draws the patterns on the silver face, and suddenly, the very ordinary silver ring comes back with a new face.

I know the signet ring originated in ancient Egypt, and it could be seen as one of the most ancient forms of personalized jewelry. But more than being used as jewelry, these rings were used to mark and seal documents by pressing the face which were historically marked with a unique family crest, into hot wax.

Now I think signet ring should be listed on must-have items.
